FAQ
YES. The protocol is intended to teach all members of the team the indications and basic skills of the various groups so that if one practitioner is not there another person can 'jump in' and perform the appropriate role safely and effectively e.g. equipping all practitioners with simple airway skills, etc. Having a good understanding of the process and the equipment makes the overall process more efficient. REACT is a specific novel set of protocols and guidelines devised to optimise the performance of a multi-disciplinary team 'working on' patients that deteriorate and arrest in the 'unique' environment of the 'Cath lab' (and its adjoining recovery area). ACLS is a set of generic guidelines aimed at a more generalist environment. Whilst there may be various similarities in some of the approaches the guided nature of REACT makes it completely different and aimed at this one specific clinical area.
